Mission: Family Promise of Pinellas County (FFPC) helps homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. Collaborating with the community provides the support and resources families in crisis need to put themselves on a path towards long-term housing stability.

What do we do: The Cathedral of St. Jude participates in the FPPC Interfaith Hospitality Program of Family Promise of Pinellas County.  Homeless families come to our campus and are housed here for a week from 5 p.m. to about 6 a.m. Volunteers prepare dinner for the families, help them assemble breakfast and lunch items for the next day. Two volunteers familiar with the campus stay overnight and see the clients off in the morning. Families then proceed to the day center at another congregation in the  FPPC Interfaith Hospitality Program  where their personal items are stored and they can shower, leave for work if they have jobs, send the children to school and work on resumes if they are looking for work.

Membership: Open to interested persons who complete the 2-hour Family Promise training class.

Meetings: None

Training/Preparation: Volunteers are trained by completing the Family Promise training class.
