You are invited to an 8 week lecture series on the epic story of the Maccabees.
Second Maccabees is not a sequel to First Maccabees. Both books tell the story of the attack on the Ancient Israelites by the Syrian Greeks in the 2nd century BC, and revolt led my Mattathias and his sons as they seek to preserve their religion. They rely on their faith in the strength of the Lord.
The objective of this lecture series is to read and study the Books of the Maccabees in as close to a chronological order as is possible.
Thursdays, May 2 through June 13 in the Meehan Classroom of the Parish Center, 7:00pm – 8:30pm.
